Sunday, July 24, 2005
Providing the required flexibility to accommodate CD players, turntables, samplers, and additional DJ tools, the new DM2050 provides inputs for 4-6 lines switchable, 2 phono inputs, and a microphone, as well as Master and Record outputs. Providing steep 3-band EQ on every channel with rotary frequency kills, the DM2050 makes it easy to contour the sound exactly to one’s liking. Of particular note, the DM2050 includes a dedicated microphone input with controls for treble, bass, and level. This feature enables one to connect and make adjustments to the microphone without occupying the primary input channels. Further, the DM2050 features a replaceable crossfader with reverse and slope control—enabling DJs to manage the fader’s two channel assignments and the blending of signals exactly as they want. Additional features of the DM2050 include a six segment LED display for monitoring signal strength and a toggle for Master and pre-fader listen (PFL) metering in the mixer’s master section. With its comprehensive feature set, the DM2050 remains quite compact compared to most three-channel mixers. Numark CEO Jack O’Donnell commented on the DM2050’s versatility, “Numark has a history steeped in providing exceptional value in its DJ mixers, and the DM2050 exemplifies this. The three-channel DM2050 builds on this tradition and delivers solid performance in a value-packed mixer.” With a suggested retail price of $149, Numark’s mixer provides great value for the DJ on a budget. The DM2050 will be available Q3 of 2005. |
