NAMM Secrets: Cycling Running Core Apps on Intel Macs

Saturday, January 28, 2006

cycling 74 intel macAt the NAMM 2006 Winter Show, held recently in Anaheim, California, Cycling '74 had its core apps, Max, MSP and Jitter, running on an Intel-based Macintosh OS X system.

We talked with Cycling's Darwin Grosse about the new versions. He said that they were running on one of Apple's Intel development boxes. He also noted that some things ran much faster on the Intel Macs, while others were not.

There was no official release date on the new versions yet, but Grosse said that users could probably expect it shortly after Apple ships the Intel-based MacBooks.

Officially, the company expects to have the porting completed by the end of 2006.
