In this segment, we get up close and personal with Tungsten’s 30 watt combo, the Buckwheat. Tungsten’s approach to building amplifiers is to follow in the footsteps of the Fender tweed designs of the mid- to late-50s focusing on compression, sag, and a complimentary mid-range tonality with various dynamic levels. The Buckwheat is a 30 watt combo driven by 6L6 power tubes and shares the same preamp and voicing as Tungsten’s smaller combo–the Crema Wheat by having 2-12AX7 preamp tubes and a GZ34 rectifier tube.
