Amplitube is an amp modeling and guitar processing app from IK Multimedia that runs on Apple iOS devices like the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. Chris takes you through creating a setup from scratch and explains what each setting does and how to use it. For guitarists looking to add amp modeling to their rig but don’t want to use a laptop this is a great place to start.

The Vapour is tone machine for small to medium sized clubs with a 20 watt Push-Pull, class AB output section (EL84 or 6V6) utilizing a clean to mean single channel preamp. This amp can be tonally controlled with a Treble, Mid, Bass tone stack with a presence and bright switch. This amp will give you tremendous gain felxibility in both your volume control and pick attack. As opposed to using channel switching you can easily set up the amp and use the volume knob on your guitar as a gain control. This amp also features a 4-8-16 ohm impedance switch so that it can be better matched with your speaker cabinet. The Buckwheat is a 30 watt combo driven by 6L6 power tubes and shares the same preamp and voicing as Tungsten’s smaller combo–the Crema Wheat by having 2-12AX7 preamp tubes and a GZ34 rectifier tube. Joe Morgan’s RCA35 drew constant crowds where it was set up in the Mercury Magnetics room. The amp is a small, 35-watt, full tone stack amp with lots of volume, extremely musical chime, controllable breakup and jazz-ready cleans. Powered by Mercury transformers and two 6L6s (it can also run on 6V6, KT66, KT77 and 5881 tubes), the amp has two 12AX7s in the preamp and has a GZ34 rectifier. It has a handwired turret board construction, birch-ply cabinets featuring solid bracing and a natural high frequency diffuser, all-tube design, ECC83 preamp tubes (x3), EL84 power tube quartet; (AC30 models); EL84 Duet (AC15 models), GZ34 rectifier (AC30 models); EZ81 rectifier (AC15 models), fitted with matched Ruby Tubes that provide extended dynamic range, traditional VOX two-channel design, Top Boost and Normal, High and Low inputs for each channel, and the Normal channel provides an additional BRIGHT switch while the top boost channel provides a HOT/COOL switch to achieve even more gain. The Master Volume/BYPASS switch completely bypasses the Master Volume section, OP mode switch cut the amp’s Output Power level in half. It has a vintage fawn-colored vinyl, reminiscent of the 1960 classic AC30, which is either loaded with a Celestion Alnico Blue (AC15HW1X) or Celestion G12M (AC15HW1) Greenback.
