SHREDDER for iPhone: Synth for Guitar TEASER was uploaded by: YonacSoftware Duration: 61 Rating:
Here’s a sneak preview of Yonac Software‘s just announced Shredder for iPhone.
Shredder is an app that lets you use your iPhone (or iPad) as a guitar synthesizer.
Here’s the official description:
SHREDDER for iPhone – Synth for Guitar:
Raspy synth swells? Gotcha covered. Bass-doubled riffs? Yup. Strings ‘n Things for beefing up the mix? Ditto. No special synth pickup needed.
SHREDDER is a synthesizer controlled by your guitar. Pop it on, plug in your guitar, hit the “Guitar Synth” button and start jamming. SHREDDER comes with a true analog synth engine including dual oscillators, 3 types of filter, a dedicated FM envelope as well as other goodies like dual LFOs, a virtual pedalboard and more. Chose among 100+ built-in presets, or create and save endless ones of your own.
SHREDDER comes with a dedicated guitar mix fader to mix in your guitar, and has attack and decay sensitivity faders to allow you to customize guitar tracking to your playing and input interface, whether its a USB in, a guitar adapter or the plain built-in mic. Headphones are required with use of the built in-mic.
We’ll keep an eye out for this. It’s officially ‘coming soon’.
At the 2012 NAMM Show, DigiTech announced the iStomp pedal, a guitar stompboxe that lets you program the effect pedal with any sound you want – and change it at any time.
The iStomp connects to an iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad, enabling musicians to load the effect of their choice into the iStomp.
The iStomp pedal connects to an Apple iOS device using the DigiTech Smart Cable that comes with the iStomp. Once connected, the DigiTech StompShop provides two of the most popular requested effects, the DigiTech Total Recall Delay and the DigiTech Redline Overdrive with the initial purchase.
The app also offers access to additional effects that iStomp owners can browse, try out, and purchase for their stompbox. The iStomp pedal has four knobs to control effects parameters, which change their function according to which effect is loaded.
iStomp makes trying out new sounds easier, too. Instead of having to go to a music store or look for online demos that might have been done with unfamiliar gear, a guitarist can try any pedal in the iStomp online store for free for up to 10 minutes – in their own home, using their own guitar and amp. Approximately 24 pedals will be offered initially, and the selection will expand to include exclusive pedals from DigiTech, officially licensed pedals from other manufacturers and classic legacy DigiTech and DOD products.
Multiple iStomp pedals can be authorized to the same iTunes account, allowing customers to purchase an effect once from the in-app store, and then load it into any iStomp pedal registered to them. All purchases are saved within the app, making it easy to build up a wide ranging effects collection.
The DigiTech iStomp will begin shipping in January 2012 at $229.95 suggested retail. The iStomp pedal comes with an iOS authorization cable, power supply and the two initial downloads. Additional downloads are available starting at $4.99 each.
Guitar Jack 2 review was uploaded by: quedecree Duration: 409 Rating:
Here’s a quick review of the Sonoma Wire Works Guitar Jack 2 – an audio interface that lets you record guitar and other audio directly to your iPhone or iPad:
A bit of a look and listen to the Guitar Jack 2 on the iPod touch 4th Gen. Also works with iPhone 4 and iPad.
Mainly designed to work with Sonoma’s FourTrack app but will evidently work with other apps as well as long as you have one of Sonoma’s apps that have the control panel to allow you to configure the Guitar Jack 2.
It has an 1/8th stereo ‘phones output, an 1/8th stereo input and a 1/4 mono input. For the first four minutes of video, you’re listening to me waffle on through a pair of Rode NT3’s and after that I plug in my Roland Juno synth and add a couple of guitar tracks.
What’s it like?? very, very good. Plenty of gain with very low noise….in fact, I can’t really hear any noise. It sounds like it’s roughly in the same league as my Edirol UA25 audio interface which is $400 bucks worth.
It’s a bit awkward to handle when plugged in to the iPod and it’s easy to bump it and lose connection so I would not be walking around with it while recording but sonically, it’s outstanding.
